I glanced at my stats for my various blogs this morning, and was astonished to see that my most viewed posts on THIS blog were posts about “Tiffany the person”. Posts I make about things going on in my “life”, rather than just the world of work, writing, and social media.
What does this tell me?
Well, from a professional standpoint, it tells me that people want to feel a personal connection with the writer. This is something that I already know because of the intensive research that I’ve done in the world of social media. This is what we teach in our social media classes. People want to feel a connection with “someone”, not just read stats and view infographics.
Interesting stuff! It makes me feel a little less guilty about the occasional story about cooking pancakes for the kids. 😉
