Funny thing, people’s comfort levels. In the early days of interacting online (bulletin boards, chat, newsgroups), we didn’t even share our real names or where we lived. Some people wouldn’t even share the country they lived in. I knew people who were in online relationships with people for years and never knew their real names.
Now, I tweet my whereabouts throughout the day. Come and get me,weirdos!. My full name (and anything else people want to know) is posted on LinkedIn (with my full entire work-life story). My thoughts are posted on Twitter, and I’m too relaxed about adding “friends of friends” on Facebook, where I have photos and names of my children and where they go to school (unthinkable in the old days).
And when I see the new generation with NO boundaries from day one, it’s terrifying.
