A message I received (re-worded slightly to protect the nature of the discussion and identity of the person):

“I can’t work for that company because I don’t speak Spanish. I only speak English, French, German, Japanese . . . and now I’m learning Mandarin Chinese. But thanks!”

Okkkkk…..the customers they serve are people in Dallas area, which would be primarily white, black, Vietnamese maybe, or Hispanic. So the languages needs for companies targeting customers in this area would be….English and Spanish...and Vietnamese (maybe).

So why cop an attitude because you want to learn all of these languages that don’t have a lot of value in our market???

This is business. May I suggest that if he wants to make himself marketable, he drop that Mandarin Chinese class and pick up some Spanish on Rosetta Stone?

It’s BUSINESS folks! Hello!
